Students in the Carpentry Program at the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center enjoyed the fruits of their labor during their weekly Simulated Workplace company meeting. The Adirondack chairs were constructed by the students using a variety of tools including jig saw, miter saw, sander, router, drill and hand tools. 🪑👏🏼

The Law and Public Safety Program at the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center had some special visitors. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s office held a canine demonstration that included a mock drug search and bite sleeve. They also demonstrated their ability to chase down a fleeing suspect. The police dogs are two years old. One is a Belgium Malinowski named Cain and the other one is a short haired German Pointer named Rio. Cane’s handler is Deputy Logan Cook and Rio’s handler is Deputy Christian Hedinger.

They used a variety of tools including screwdrivers and wire strippers. 🔌

Students in the Carpentry Program at the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center learned how to use a belt sander. A belt sander is used to rough sand wood before using a finish sander. Students cut the wood with a saw and then used the sander to finish a curve cut in the wood. 🔨 🪚🪵
