Westside High students in Mr. Matt Mitchell’s class constructed a wall depicting the former Berlin Wall as part of their research on that time period. The wall was torn down today on the anniversary of actual Berlin Wall being destroyed. The tearing down of the wall represented the importance of freedom for all.🇺🇸

This scholarship is given to a student with at least an overall 3.0 gpa average who participates in a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee, and is recognized as a leader in his/her community. A Fairmont State University representative visited Westside High School juniors and seniors on Thursday in honor of College Application and Exploration Week. Students learned about programs, majors, and all other activities Fairmont State has to offer. The Westside High Marching Band placed fourth at the West Virginia Marching Band Invitational on October 23 in Charleston. Drum Major, Aiden Blankenship, placed third overall. The drum line placed second. The color guard team placed third.
The band is under the direction of Mr. Chris Baber.
