Ms. Walker’s US Studies students at Wyoming East participated in a Joint-Stock Company Simulation. A couple of students in each class volunteered to be owners of a joint-stock company and were challenged to gain investors with a one minute sales pitch. Students invested in the joint-stock company of their choice by the company owner collecting their “money.” Students discovered the risk of joint-stock company investment with the company owners’ drawing their companies’ outcomes at random. Some lost their investment while others profited greatly. 🖤💚
