Due to an unexpected power outage at Mullens Elementary and Middle School, there will be not school on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Wyoming County Schools is excited to partner with Special Olympics to offer inclusive athletic opportunities: ⭐ Young Athletes: Ages 2–7 A sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities. ⭐ Traditional Special Olympics: Ages 8+ Athletic training and competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Sports include bowling, basketball, cheerleading, track & field, and cornhole. Come join the fun!

Wyoming County Schools principals and central office team members collaborated during today’s Walk This Way session to develop our new classroom walk-through tool. From Wyoming County to Oxford, England! This summer, two former Wyoming County Schools students, Maria Morgan and Piper Cook, had the incredible opportunity to study abroad for three weeks at Exeter College at the University of Oxford in England. Their experience included daily lectures covering foreign affairs, public policy, geopolitics, and other global topics, along with seminar-style courses that challenged them through discussion, research, and Oxford-style academic writing. Beyond the classroom, Maria and Piper connected with students of all ages from around the world, experienced new cultures, and traveled to other countries throughout Europe. This opportunity allowed them to broaden their perspectives, deepen their understanding of the world, and experience learning on a truly global stage. Their study abroad experience was made possible through the Society of Yeager Scholars, a rigorous, full-ride scholarship program at Marshall University. We are incredibly proud to see Maria Morgan and Piper Cook embracing opportunities to learn, grow, and represent our community around the world! On Friday, Pineville Elementary School Kindergarten students had a very special visitor, National Guard member Justin Grimmett! 🇺🇸 Justin read to our students and talked with them about the National Guard, the important work they do, and the many ways they have recently helped communities across West Virginia. Our students loved learning more about the National Guard and the important role they play in serving and protecting our communities.
