Friday, September 18, 2026 Pineville Elementary and Middle Schools Bus 160, Johnny Jones will not be running morning or afternoon on Friday, September 18.

Wyoming County Schools staff (Megan Crutchfield, Tim Leather, Cody Frye and Terry Shumate) participated in CPI Trainer Training to strengthen our commitment to safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments. These staff members are equipped to train employees in prevention, de-escalation, and safe intervention strategies. Thursday, September 17, 2026 Wyoming East High School Pineville Elementary and Middle School Bus 242, Vanessa will not be running this evening. Turkey Creek parents will need to meet Bus 254 at the mouth of the hollow. High School: 3:10PM Elementary and Middle School: 4:10PM

Thursday, September 17, 2026 Westside High School Huff Elementary and Middle School Bus 271 Mary will not be running this evening. Bus 252 Terena will be bringing those students home. High School students will be approximately 20 minutes late, Elementary and Middle School. Students will be approximately 30 minutes late.

Thursday, September 17, 2026 Pineville Elementary and Middle Schools Bus 201 Lola will not be running this evening Bus 375. Tammy will be bringing those students home. Students that live in Bowman’s Bottom and Keyrock will be approximately 20 minutes late this evening.

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Wyoming East High School Herndon Elementary and Middle School Bus 188, Tonya will not be running this evening. Bus 187, and Bus 241 will be bringing those students home. Covel and Garwood students may be home a few mins early. Basin students may be up to 20 minutes late.

Wyoming County Schools principals and central office team members collaborated during today’s Walk This Way session to develop our new classroom walk-through tool. From Wyoming County to Oxford, England! This summer, two former Wyoming County Schools students, Maria Morgan and Piper Cook, had the incredible opportunity to study abroad for three weeks at Exeter College at the University of Oxford in England. Their experience included daily lectures covering foreign affairs, public policy, geopolitics, and other global topics, along with seminar-style courses that challenged them through discussion, research, and Oxford-style academic writing. Beyond the classroom, Maria and Piper connected with students of all ages from around the world, experienced new cultures, and traveled to other countries throughout Europe. This opportunity allowed them to broaden their perspectives, deepen their understanding of the world, and experience learning on a truly global stage. Their study abroad experience was made possible through the Society of Yeager Scholars, a rigorous, full-ride scholarship program at Marshall University. We are incredibly proud to see Maria Morgan and Piper Cook embracing opportunities to learn, grow, and represent our community around the world! On Friday, Pineville Elementary School Kindergarten students had a very special visitor, National Guard member Justin Grimmett! 🇺🇸 Justin read to our students and talked with them about the National Guard, the important work they do, and the many ways they have recently helped communities across West Virginia. Our students loved learning more about the National Guard and the important role they play in serving and protecting our communities. Madison is studying Exercise Physiology and plans to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. Yesterday, our kindergarten students at Pineville Elementary School were excited to welcome Zac Butcher and Jeff Greene from STAT EMS! They took the time to read a book to our students, teach them about what EMS does, and give them an up-close look at an ambulance. The students even got to walk through the ambulance, listen to the sirens, and take home their very own coloring books! Our students had such a fun and exciting time learning about the important work EMS does in our community. ❤️ Thank you, Zac and Jeff, for taking time out of your day to visit us, teach our students, and make this visit so special! We are so grateful for our community helpers! 🚑📚

Assistant Chief Fireman Mike Johnson came to visit our kindergarten students at Pineville Elementary School and shared all about being a firefighter. He read a story to our students, gave them the opportunity to see the awesome fire truck, and even let them see the lights and hear the horn and siren! 🚨 Our kids absolutely loved this hands-on experience! ❤️ We are so thankful that you took time out of your busy day to visit us and teach our students about firefighters, fire safety, and the important work you do in our community. Today, we were joined by members of the T3 “You Had Me at Hello” team—Senetha Thornton, Cody Frye, Debbie Clay, and Erika Lusk! The team modeled a variety of effective communication strategies designed to strengthen connections between school, home, and community. We concluded the session with an interactive simulation with the support of Samantha Clay, putting those communication strategies into practice.
