Even Wyoming East’s biology students make buckets 🏀🏆!! Students are learning about island biogeography by “flying” from mainland Ecuador to distant islands. They are graphing the populations found on small, medium, and large islands that are closer, midway, and farther from the mainland. #WarriorProud #itsalwaysagreatdaytobeawarrior

Mr. Jason Fortner has been the Drafting-CADD instructor at the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center since 2014. Mr. Fortner is a 2000 graduate of the WCCTC’s Drafting-CADD program. Before starting his teaching career, Mr. Fortner worked as a lead drafter and project manager for multiple small coal mine projects in Southern WV. Mr. Fortner ensured that the WCCTC could offer rigorous Pre-Engineering courses by diligently working with Project Lead the Way. Thanks to Mr. Fortner, the WCCTC’s Pre-Engineering and Drafting-CADD programs have grown significantly each year, gaining new equipment (such as laser cutters, 3D printers, and a water jet) and expanding curriculums that align with in-field, real-world experience and college ready standards in an ever-diversifying industry. Throughout his career, many of Mr. Fortner’s students have graduated valedictorian, attended rigorous pre-engineering/drafting colleges, and/or gone on to work for the U.S. Military, Toyota Research and Development, Raw Resources, AEP, and Whitman Requardt & Associates.💙 #CTEMonth #ShowcaseWyCoSchools
