Mr. Jason Fortner has been the Drafting-CADD instructor at the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center since 2014. Mr. Fortner is a 2000 graduate of the WCCTC’s Drafting-CADD program. Before starting his teaching career, Mr. Fortner worked as a lead drafter and project manager for multiple small coal mine projects in Southern WV. Mr. Fortner ensured that the WCCTC could offer rigorous Pre-Engineering courses by diligently working with Project Lead the Way. Thanks to Mr. Fortner, the WCCTC’s Pre-Engineering and Drafting-CADD programs have grown significantly each year, gaining new equipment (such as laser cutters, 3D printers, and a water jet) and expanding curriculums that align with in-field, real-world experience and college ready standards in an ever-diversifying industry. Throughout his career, many of Mr. Fortner’s students have graduated valedictorian, attended rigorous pre-engineering/drafting colleges, and/or gone on to work for the U.S. Military, Toyota Research and Development, Raw Resources, AEP, and Whitman Requardt & Associates.💙
