World Autism Awareness Day occurs each year on April 2nd. On that day, Autism Speaks hosts their annual "Light It Up Blue" campaign that encourages people to wear blue and spread autism awareness. Students and staff can take part in this campaign by wearing blue.💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
⭐️Since April 2nd is Saturday, we will celebrate on Friday, April 1st.⭐️

PreK teachers gathered today to receive their Digital Resources for Secret Stories. They had fun and discovered new ways to use the Secrets through play! Music, drama, using a kitchen blender, art, and exploratory bins are just a few of the ideas they can take back to use. Q and U had a wedding. Mommy E made an appearance and Sneaky Y had a story and a craft! Building their students’ foundation of reading through fun!!🤫❤️

Wyoming County Schools hosted the Kagan Cooperative Learning Day 1 today. A phenomenal day was had by all! 11 winners took home prizes today to assist with their implementation. 🏆

Wyoming County Schools is proud to partner with WVU Extensions to offering a fun and amazing time with Energy Express. This program will provide a dynamic learning opportunity for students entering into grades 1-4. Locations will be in three areas within Wyoming County: Berlin McKinney, Mullens Elementary, and Pineville Elementary. If you are interested in having your child attend, please fill out this interest survey. Estimated dates of the program will be June 21-July 29.

Summative Assessments will begin soon with grades 3-8 and 11 Alternate Assessment beginning April 4th followed by the 11th grade SAT School Day on April 13th.💻

We would like to congratulate the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center’s Practical Nursing Program for their successful initial accreditation visit with COE (Council on Occupational Education). COE is an accrediting institution for post-secondary programs. An institution must fulfill certain criteria before becoming eligible for accreditation through COE. Accreditation status and length of accreditation will be determined in June. The WCCTC initial exit conference with COE visiting members stated that there were no findings or issues to be addressed.👏🏼

Second grade teachers participated in a hands-on session to learn how to use their new digital resources for Secret Stories. Amy Mitchell encouraged them to become scientists in their field of teaching students how to read. Teachers were engaged in research-based activities that utilize the Secret Stories and are ready to take these tools back to their classrooms to use with their students.❤️
Today PreK teachers will gather to discover more ways to learn through play. They will receive digital resources to help build the foundation of their education using the Secret Stories through songs, dress-up, drama, stories, books, and more.📚
