Amy Mitchell provided teachers in kindergarten and first grade a training this evening. The hands-on session was to learn how to use their new digital resources for Secret Stories. Teachers were engaged in activities that align with the Science of Reading. They created Reading Ropes to see how fundamentally crucial the Secret Stories are to teaching reading. They will take these research-based strategies and tools back to their classrooms to use with their students.📚
‼️Upcoming opportunities:
Second grade teachers will meet Thursday, 4:30-6:30.
PreK teachers will meet on Friday, 1:30-3:30.

‼️📚REMINDER📚‼️
There will be NO school for ALL students on Friday, March 25th in order for employees to participate in scheduled Professional Learning Day.🤓📚#informWycoSchools

Communities In Schools Facilitator Mrs. Amber completed a toothpaste activity with 3rd grade at Mullens Elementary. In this lesson, the toothpaste tube represented people and the toothpaste represented words. 3rd graders were challenged to return the toothpaste back inside of the tube and were unsuccessful. Students learned that just like toothpaste, words can not be taken back once said. 🗣🤭 #LoveMyWVSchool
