Students in Ms. Walker’s Contemporary Studies classes at Wyoming East analyzed 10 primary source documents from the Prohibition era. For each document, students decided if it presented an argument for or against prohibition of alcohol. As a class, we discussed the documents and addressed the following questions: Does it show a positive or negative outcome of Prohibition? Does it identify a problem with the law? Does it present a reason why it might have been repealed? 🖤💚

Ms. Walker’s US Studies students at Wyoming East studied the Declaration of Independence. The lesson started with a reading of a "break-up" letter that was “found” in the classroom. The students figured out it was the American colonists writing to King George. After discussing the historical document as a break-up letter written to convince the world of the king’s abuses and that the colonies no longer wanted a relationship with Great Britain, students completed a texting activity to reinforce their understanding of what Jefferson wrote in the Declaration.🇺🇸❤️

Members of Skills USA at the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center continued today to help the veterans in the Oceana area. They did a community project in Oceana by helping take down the veteran banners so they can be stored for the winter. Skills members will help the veterans in the spring to rehang the banners before Memorial Day. 🇺🇸❤️
