Summer professional development sessions continued today! Grades 3-5 ELA teachers and principals participated in a training session led by Ashley Francis that focused on best practices for writing instruction and available resources.





Mountain State ESC, in partnership with the Marshall University’s June Harless Center and WVDE presented a one-day, information packed session to assist principals with implementing the Science of Reading. Principals from Berlin McKinney, Glen Fork, and Herndon attended along with Amy Mitchell.

Shoutout to our dedicated Wyoming East High School educators who spent two days in training to bring high-dosage tutoring for Algebra I and 9th Grade ELA to our 9th Grade Advisory classrooms! This powerful support, made possible through GEAR UP SWV, will help ensure our freshmen start strong and stay on track for success. These educators will also train our 9th grade advisory sponsors to extend this impact even further!
