Chiho Feindler, Chief Program Officer, Save The Music Foundation, Mike Kamphuis Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Education for Conn Selmer Instruments, and Randall Reid Smith, office of the Cabinet Secretary for the WVDE Arts, Culture, and History,  presented leaders from Glen Fork Elementary and Middle & Road Branch Elementary and Middle with the Save the Music Grant.  Huff Consolidated will be presented with their grant award in the coming months. We are grateful for the continued support of the Arts in Wyoming County.

Friday, October 25, 2024. Wyoming East High School. Mullens Elementary School. Mullens Middle School. Bus 165, Ruby, will not be running this evening. Bus 147 will bring those students home. High School Students will be 25 minutes late. Elementary and Middle School Students will be 25-40 minutes late.

Parents will need to meet the bus at the mouth of KeyRock or Rock Castle Baptist Church. Bus 154 will be bringing those students. Bus 154 will run through Bowmans Bottom High School Run, meet at 3:15pm. Elementary and Middle Run, meet at 3:55pm.

A cohort of teachers are participating in a weekly series to increase their awareness of dyslexia and how to improve instruction for students with reading difficulties. All elementary schools have representatives on this team and will share the information with the coworkers in their building. Mrs. Lester’s 7th grade students at Glen Fork spent Columbus Day digging a little deeper into the facts surrounding Christopher Columbus’s journey. Students debated his role in history and discussed how different people may have different views of what really took place. A few of the Glen Fork Tiger Mentors and Student Council members spent the morning at Baileysville Elementary and Middle  School reading and doing a Halloween project with kindergarten and 1st grade students.
