Congratulations to Westside’s Theatre for winning in multiple categories at the WV State Thespian Festival at WVU. Their production won Outstanding One-Act Play. Senior, Brayden Smith, won Outstanding Supporting Actor and Freshman, Sarah Browning, won All-Festival Cast.
This is the first time in seven years Westside has been represented at this festival at the state level and received a standing ovation by a crowd of hundreds.👏🏼🤩

In "Mathstruction: Building an Active Math Classroom", participants put on their mathematical hard hats, picked up their number tools, and got their hands dirty building a solid mathematical foundation that includes getting their students up and active in math class! Every year the WV Statewide Independent Living Council, the WV Division of Rehabilitation Services, and the State Rehabilitation Council invite all WV High School Seniors to participate in the WV Disability History Essay Contest that coincides with Disability History week in all WV public schools. This year Wyoming County East High School Senior Piper Cook is district 5, 2nd place winner and will receive an engraved keychain and a check for $1,000.👏🏼💚🖤
