Wyoming County Schools' Capacity Building Team, including Kara Halsey-Mitchell, Brenda Shumate, Erika Lusk, and Berlin McKinney staff members—Tina Adams-Wallen, Megan Crutchfield, and Tara Boothe is attending a 2-day STRIVE Conference.
This conference will equip our team with essential knowledge and skills in special education, focusing on key topics, legal requirements, and best practices.
They are eager to return to Wyoming County and share this valuable information with educators from all schools to enhance IEP development and improve student outcomes.


No Pre-K on Friday, May 9th, to all for teachers’ scheduled planning day.


Principals and PLC Facilitators had their final Community of Practice meeting for FY 25. The session was full of collaboration, conversation, idea sharing, and learning. Bus 251 will be taking Sun Hill, Reedy Creek, Cedar Creek. Parents will need to meet the bus at the mouth of Cedar and Reedy Creek.
Elementary and Middle:
Bus 243 will be delivering kids from 971 to Laura Branch. Students will be 25 minutes late getting home.
Bus 251 will be delivering students home in Sun Hill, Reedy Creek, and Cedar Creek. Parents will need to meet the bus at the mouth of Cedar and Reedy Creek.

Bethany Harper and Melissa Cochran participated in the WV Leaders of Numeracy Educator Network. During this experience, they collaborated with amazing educators from across WV, and helped to create tasks that will equip students with numerical reasoning skills. First Annual Foodies Council Meeting
Students from every school in grades 3-8 were invited to Pineville Middle School to taste test 15 different NEW foods. Their votes will determine if the items will be added to next year’s menus. They gave feedback on the current menus used in Wyoming County Schools which will determine what foods stay on the menus.
It was a very successful meeting and we would like to thank the Pineville Middle School Cooks (Mrs. Sonjia Morgan, Cafeteria Manager, Yvonne King, and Sherri Pettus), Mr. Leather, Ms. Boninsegna and Ms. Huffman and everyone on the staff for welcoming and participating in this event!

Wyoming County General Summative Assessment begins on Monday, May 5, 2025. Student results should be available within 24 hours of test completion. Please see the attached documents for more information on viewing student results.
