Marissa Schomaker and Brittany Blankenship recently presented at the West Virginia Math Conference! Their session, “Galaxy of Growth: Small Groups That Boost Math Mastery,” had participants actively engaged as they moved through stations throughout the presentation. Marissa and Brittany shared fun, engaging strategies that support student growth through meaningful small-group math instruction, along with research highlighting why active learning is so effective for students. 🎉 Great News for Wyoming County Schools!
The West Virginia Department of Education has approved our waiver request, meaning we will NOT have to make up four snow days this school year. 📅 The last day of school will remain June 2. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your flexibility during this winter’s weather. We’re looking forward to a strong finish to the school year!

Wyoming County Schools celebrates Brooke Bailey, 2025 West Virginia Milken Educator, who was honored during the March meeting of the West Virginia Board of Education! Stephanie Bishop, Vice President of the Milken Educator Awards, recognized Ms. Bailey and presented her with the Milken Educator obelisk—a powerful symbol of excellence in teaching and leadership. What a day for Baileysville’s Hayden Belcher! 🏛️ Hayden, one of our 8th grade students had the opportunity to visit the state capitol for Domestic Violence Awareness Day — and got to witness history in action. For the first time ever, Hayden watched bills being introduced and even got to meet with delegates face to face. Experiences like this are exactly what learning looks like beyond the classroom walls.
